BIA’s Skelton joins US Chamber advisory committee

CONCORD — Michael Skelton, president and CEO, of the Business & Industry Association, New Hampshire’s statewide chamber commerce, recently accepted a prestigious appointment to the U.S. Chamber’s advisory committee.

Skelton is among seven new executives joining the U.S. Chamber’s Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. The CCC100 advises the chamber’s board of directors, enhances lobbying and coalition work, recommends programming, and strengthens outreach to the business and chamber communities.

“The CCC100 has a long-standing reputation as one of the most prestigious appointments in the chamber community,” said Sara Armstrong, vice president and managing director, federation relations and grassroots advocacy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “These appointments reflect our continued dedication to naming diverse, high-profile leaders to serve on this important committee.”

The U.S. Chamber is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.

“Partnerships and shared advocacy among state chambers and leading national groups like the U.S. Chamber and National Association of Manufacturers are increasingly important today,” Skelton said. “Businesses across the country are increasingly concerned with of federal regulations and policy issues and it’s crucial that U.S. regulators and lawmakers hear how industry and the economy will be negatively affected.”
